Your Appointment
We accept referrals from all GPs , consultants and self-referrals.
What to expect
Your first visit will last up to 40 minutes in order to allow a thorough assessment . This tends to lead to better diagnosis and subsequently a better treatment outcome.
You will be asked lots of questions about your problem and also about your general health, current medications ( it would be useful to bring a current list of this ) , work and hobbies
You will be asked for your consent before any assessment or treatment.
There will also be a physical examination. This may require the physiotherapist to ask you to undress to your underwear, particularly if your spine is the problem. This allows us to look at your general movements and function as well as to feel the structures affected. Your modesty will be maintained at all times.
Following this we will discuss our findings with you and a relevant treatment plan. Sometimes there may be a need to refer you back to your GP or Consultant or onward for further investigations
Arriving for your appointment
We always try and give appointment times that suit you.
No shows may be charged if 24 hours notice is not received.
If possible, please arrive a little early as you may be required to complete a contact details form. Our 'How to Contact / Where to Find Us' page contains travel and car parking information, including a downloadable map.
We make every effort to see people at the correct time, although there are sometimes unavoidable delays.
What to wear
Depending on the area of your problem you may be required to undress down to your underwear. For lower limb conditions it may be useful to bring some shorts if you have them. Generally loose fitting garments which enable you to move freely are preferable for assessment and treatment.
Payment and Prices
The cost of a physiotherapy appointment is £42 and lasts up to 40 minutes. If you wish to use your health insurance company you will need to contact them prior to treatment to obtain your authorisation code. You will need to bring this with you to your first appointment. Treatment cannot be provided without this.
Please note there may be an excess on your policy that you will need to pay.
Unless you are claiming through an insurance company you will be asked to pay following each treatment, payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
